On March 1, 2025, President Donald J. Trump signed Executive Order 14224, designating English as the official language of the United States—which raises an awkward question: Which English? The one with “should of went,” “I seen it,” “could care less,” and “irregardless”? Have no fear! Help is on the way!

Presenting:
Grammar Man to the Rescue!
Saving the English Language from the Top 100 Grammar Crimes

The English language is under attack—and it is changing for the worse.

This is more than the natural evolution that every living language experiences over time. Poor education, careless communication, and the rise of social-media speak have created a culture in which many people—young and old—have lost sight of the importance of punctuation, agreement, tense, syntax, spelling, and precise word choice.

Words are misused. Words are overused. And meanings are increasingly blurred.

Some will argue that as long as a person's general idea gets across, these rules don't matter. But grammar is more than a collection of arbitrary rules. When we discard those rules, we lose more than annoying details. We lose clarity, precision, specificity, and detail.

And there can be consequences.

Grammar crimes are not always victimless. Language is one of the tools we use to communicate instructions, warnings, contracts, measurements, responsibilities, and intentions. When that communication becomes ambiguous and sloppy, the consequences can extend far beyond a bad grade or being ridiculed in a comment section.

A misplaced decimal or an unexplained abbreviation can contribute to a costly financial error. A poorly written or misunderstood medication instruction can put a patient's safety at risk. And a technical specification containing an ambiguous word, missing punctuation, or unclear instruction can result in the wrong component being ordered, manufactured, or installed—with potentially serious consequences.

It's true as well that, sometimes, people simply don't know they're committing crimes against the English language.

That's where we enter the discussion.

America has an official language.
Now it needs an official grammar check.

Make Grammar Great Again is coming soon—with explanatory videos, investigations, humor, resources, and a growing community of people who believe that words mean things and that the rules of language still matter.

We'll expose the crimes, examine the evidence, explain the rules, and—when appropriate—put the offenders "on trial!"
